Communiqué #2 is the second CD of a trilogy in the making. In this CD the poems of the great Bengali Mystic poet Rabindranath Tagore and the Sufi Al Hallaj are adapted in a form that ranges from Bossa Nova with Oriental Melodies to Funk and Samba passing through meditative intermissions and contemplative moods. Ghazi Abdel Baki is joined in this CD by “BBC3 World Music Awards Winner 2007” Ghada Shbeir on two tracks. She delivers a unique performance on “Tagore” and improvises Oriental voice partitions on a 1,000 year old Andalusian poem. Communiqué #2 is an extravaganza of colors and sounds that fuse together effortlessly in the most fluid of World Music trends.
